BIOGRAPHY

I began my career in 1972  after graduating from the Medway College of Design

in Kent, UK, with a first class diploma in Graphic Illustration.

Scalpel, rapidograph, and cow gum were, initially, my creative tools of the commercial art world, though I progressed rapidly from a studio ‘cut and stick’ apprentice into the more diverse areas of  visualising and illustration.

I cut my teeth and honed my draughtsmanship abilities on many blue chip assignments, emerging as a wide-ranging and experienced visualiser and illustrator, working for several notable studios and advertising agencies in and around London.

After 20  years as a studio employee, I decided to become a freelance artist and have maintained this status to the present day.

I currently work from my home studio in Kent, and provide my work as email attachments, on disc, or via the postal services.

I have much experience in advertising and publishing illustration, creating

tv storyboards, concepts, visuals, animatics & animation, and artwork for press

and print.

Publishing work has included children’s books, educational material, and monthly consumer titles, all utilising my varied interpretations of style and medium to solve a wide and demanding client brief.

Recent work has seen a departure from traditional mediums, and I employ digital paint for much of my output, though I maintain the capabilities to produce conventional techniques when requested.

Expanding my skills using DTP and web building software has enabled me to create commercial websites, including the design and construction of this personal webspace, and I continue to embrace the challenges of the digital world

utilising this exciting medium.
